Anchors of Gaia (In two parts) by Rebecca Cubitt

Anchors of Gaia (In two parts)

One floor piece, plaster cast of roots, mud and wood; Wall work, cyanotype, rust print - Floor piece 77 x 7cm deep circle, Wall piece 80 x 80cm

The nature of the work is mostly ephemeral, featuring elements of change and transformation.

The exploration of abandoned buildings in and around Norfolk act as vehicles of contemplation to inspire, primarily for the blurring of the interior and exterior which is so prevalent in these sites, this inspiration is then used to create artworks containing dialogues between nature and culture.I have produced a mixture of gallery and outdoor works, attempting to blur the boundary’s of the conventional white cube.
